Was this review helpful? The pilot starts off good but after halfway it just gets really bad and the pace is just terrible for someone who's just woke up from a coma of 12 years. Cute boy mysteriously receives powers and is forced into action to protect the cute girl. I'm glad I was pleasantly surprised. The dialogue became inane. We watch primarily series and are in the entertainment biz, doing special effects, makeup etc for many beloved shows. We REALLY hope to see more, not only of Beyond, but other good shows to follow. The acting is better than I expected for a FreeForm show and contrary to some of the reviews, it has quite a bit of sci-fi in it. Professional in every sense, amazingly interesting story line, although similar in some ways to others, but we both could see it going very far. 16 out of 33 found this helpful. Just to explain I just binge watched the ENTIRETY of this horrid show. Follows the turbulent relationship of Cole and Maya as they struggle to survive in a world where the human population has been decimated by an extra-terrestrial attack. I found this show enjoyable and it pulled me in. A main character is shot point-blank … It gets worse and worse. The continuity is sloppy. Was this review helpful? We were unfamiliar with this channel, and I have read that Freeform doesn't have the greatest track record with following into second seasons, perhaps the very reason why we are so unfamiliar with this channel! What was missing was any reason to give even the slightest crap about anything that was happening, and that is down to the writers and the directors, totally failing to imbue the show with any emotional resonance at all.

I'm sure we will be exhausted, it REALLY is that good. Anyone who actually enjoys this show has really poor taste. One can go the wrong way with that too). It's a place where humans are not supposed to be (as evidenced by all sorts of scary creatures looking to wipe you out) but our main character Holden develops some kind of element-warping powers that allow him to survive for so long. 31 of 48 people found this review helpful.
