I even liked the slaw that came with it (and I consider slaw rather a throw away item).
Riptide is a solid casual option for seafood with boiled crabs, crab cakes, shrimp and the like that won't break the bank. We have both tried crab cakes from Thanes Oyster House and Shirley's and this one is definitely on par with those (and even better according to my boyfriend). It's a good place to meet and eat with friends where the food is not a centerpiece of the evening and someone wants seafood.

Fierce competition in Baltimore for crab cakes means means there's better specimens elsewhere in town, but it's probably better than you can get out of town. We ordered firecracker shrimp and snow crab legs. My boyfriend and I both got this dish and LOVED it. Most of the oysters were still full of dirts and little crabs inside what are still wiggling. They have very affordable pricing for the excellence in quality of food. The platter fed both my husband and I very well.
Unlike what many other reviewers here have said, for us the service was just fine (maybe because it was a Tuesday evening) (not surew how crowded it was inside, but they have a "crab room" on the side that was completely empty.Nice selection at decent prices, excluding crabs which seem to get more & more expensive every time I have them. They required reservations (barely had anyone in there) and made us wait 15-20minutes before taking our order.....oh wait they never came to take our order. The oyster shooters were pretty decent though, because your girl loves alcohol!
