હાલમાં સુરતનો હીરા ઉદ્યોગ વિશ્વભરમાં જાણીતો છે. જોકે તાપી નદી ઉપર બનાવાયેલા બંધોના કારણે હાલનું બંદર ખૂબ જ નાનું થઈ ગયું છે, જે હજીરા પાસે આવેલ છે. પરંતુ હવે મુંબઈની રોજની હવાઈ સેવા પણ શરુ કરાયેલ છે.
