4 minutes 56 seconds Assassin's Creed is one of those video game adaptations that's not enough of a movie in its own right to engage the imagination of film fans, and alas, not playable for adherents of the game. All rights reserved. This movie was so boring.
I had huge expectations for this one and yet again the video game to movie doesn't translate. And the reasons why I liked this movie is because: 1. Wastes an INCREDIBLE cast on what will wind up contributing to the seemingly never-ending pile of lacklustre videogame adaptations. The change of the Animus from a bed-like system to the VR style arm was something I originally disliked, but that change ends up playing well into the film visually and aids in parts of the story. Originally published last month for its initial US release, here's our review of the Assassin's Creed film - which is now showing in the UK. Despite critic reviews and reports expressing their concern on yet another video game spin-off attempt, I decided to still go view the movie on its first showing. A visually murky, nonsensical work that has somehow attracted a large number of really talented actors to run through the paces of a story whose stakes are an utter mystery. A movie that can't work out whether it is a swashbuckling romp or a dystopian sci-fi drama. As far as movie adaptations of video games, this is a far better rendition than many other attempts.
