Romance Language is the perfect example of Whalum’s musical genius, and even though the original recording was over thirty minutes long, Whalum was able to come up with four new songs to cover and add to the album.
However, after listening to the entire CD several times, I simply fell 'head over heels' with "Autumn Serenade."
Briefly, I purchased such CD primarily due to the first track entitled, "They Say It's Wonderful."

Records LP John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman helped to redefine the renowned jazz saxophonist by pairing him with a singer on a collection of standards, showing that Coltrane wasn't (or wasn't only) an avant-gardist bent on playing free jazz. His music is, to me, soft jazz, and the sax is one of my favorite instruments, so why not?
